CCSI MBBC Presents: Social Justice & Racial Inequities - Where Do We Go From Here?
Thanks for your interest in joining us for the MBBC's Social Justice & Racial Inequities Series! We look foward to having you! Below are the session descriptions!

SESSION 1: Violence Prevention: Helping Us, Not Harming Us Tuesday June 8th, 2021 5-7 pm
An intentional discussion-based space addressing a real issue: root causes of violence and solutions from the ground. We will have a panel of organizations and Credible Messengers that are doing the work! How can we embrace harm reduction practices & hold hope moving forward?

SESSION 2: erving Our Youth & Communities Well During a Pandemic: Highlighting Child Welfare Tuesday June 15th, 2021 5-7 pm
What child welfare/fostercare barriers and challenges are families and youth facing in this pandemic? How are organizations preparing to address the needs of families? We will have representation from child welfare providers and create safe and brave space for community members to share their perspectives and experiences!

SESSION 3: Police Transformation: What Does Justice Look Like? Tuesday June 22nd, 2021 5-7 pm
What do you need to know about police interactions and how to report a bad encounter? During this informational session, with reps from police accountability groups, we will have transparent discussions about police reform, community perspectives, and imagine what justice could be.

SESSION 4: Mind Over Matter: How Youth Overcome Traumatic Experiences in Systems
Tuesday June 29th, 2021 5-7 pm
Do you truly know about the experiences of our youth within NYC? Youth will discuss their perspectives and the effects of experiencing racism and ableism within several systems, including: mental and behavioral health, education, juvenile justice, housing, and others. Come explore some valuable information with us in a youth-led learning space and discuss using different coping mechanisms in order to overcome these experiences!
